Volunteers Boost Centre's Operation
When visitors want to know about a town’s best feature or what is happening in the places they visit – they ask the locals. And when the locals love their community, their enthusiasm is going to flow through, making those who come to Mathoura keen to experience all the area has to offer.
Volunteers who work at the Mathoura Visitor and Business Centre have done an exceptional job in promoting our area and enticing visitors to return again and again. In addition, they have had input into the highly successful Mathoura Tourist and Services Directory, as well as having played a vital role in tourism activities such as the Cadell Country Fair and the Mathoura Garden Tour. These ventures not only attracted visitors to town, but helped raise funds to assist the running of such ventures in the future.
It is not all work and no play for the volunteers. Plans are already advanced for the yearly Christmas party, which, with the involvement of these vibrant people, is sure to be a fun event!
Council and staff at the Centre would like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to the valued volunteers. Without your work the Centre would be unable to open on weekends.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact the staff at the Mathoura Visitor & Business Centre.
